Live Like It’s Your Last Day
August 25th, 2015
Matthew 25:1-13
Would you live differently if you knew it was your last day on earth? Most people would probably admit that they would show others more love, enjoy the little moments, take nothing for granted, give more financially to help those in need, be more honest with people, take more risks, not worry about what others think, etc.
Why would the knowledge that today is your last day change the way you live? Why aren’t you living that way already?
If you think you have all the time in the world to start living in the best way possible and doing the right thing—like forgiving someone, getting close to God, or telling someone you love them and are proud of them—then you are not living with the sense of urgency this fleeting life requires.
We don’t know the day or the hour when we will come before Jesus—through death or through His glorious return. Please don’t let the daily routine of life lull you to sleep. Wake up! Live in the moment with God’s big picture in mind. Let this knowledge motivate you to reach out to the lost and hurting, and get right with God!
