Isaiah 42:14-25
The way to the cross is not made in one giant leap. Rather, this journey with Jesus takes daily step by step commitment and courage. Developing trust in Jesus takes time. We know this path leads to the cross, but what this means in everyday life requires a grace and wisdom that we don’t always have on our own. It is easy to stumble or slip on frustrations or disappointments especially when they catch us by surprise.
We need all the help we can get.
This promise from Isaiah is Good News. What an opportunity we have to walk with Jesus, our pathfinder and shepherd! As we depend on Him, things that could so easily trip us up and stop us in our path become another means by which God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. The darkness begins to lift. Our deepening sense of trust and obedience in the One who guides us also reveals more clearly the path we walk upon.
