It’s A Matter of Trust
April 22nd, 2015
Psalm 20:1-9
Harold was an auto mechanic for many years, and he was very good at it. He knew how cars worked, and how to fix them when they didn’t work. Any time his pastor had a problem with a vehicle, he could take it to the garage where Harold worked. If Harold wasn’t available, he’d make sure another trusted mechanic performed the repairs. Harold was glad to be able to take care of his pastor’s car. It was his way of expressing his love for his pastor. The pastor was glad to put the vehicle into his expert, capable hands. He never had to worry about whether the repairs were done correctly; he knew he could trust Harold.
Do we find it easier to trust a repair person than to trust the Almighty God with our problems? After all, He is the Creator of all things, and knows better than anyone how things work. Because of His great love for us, He can be trusted to help us, even when things aren’t working so well.
