A Royal Wedding
January 31st, 2015
Revelation 19:1-10
Millions of viewers witnessed the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The ceremony was televised live around the world. Thousands lined the streets outside Buckingham Palace in hopes of catching a glimpse of the royal couple.
Three hundred guests invited to the dinner reception entered the Palace courtyard through a candlelit walkway. A sparkling chandelier and two thrones adorned the ballroom. Guests feasted on such delicacies as dressed crab, lamb fillet, and a trio of trifles. The celebrants were later escorted to the Palace gardens to view a spectacular fireworks display.
Yet, even this costly, grand affair will pale in comparison to the wedding supper of the Lamb, when Jesus, the Bridegroom, comes for His Bride, the Church.
As Christ’s followers we will be ushered into the Throne Room to partake of the grandest wedding feast such as this world has never witnessed. The scene-–when we bow before our King and Savior in ecstatic rapture-–defies imagination.
