Hebrews 4:14—5:10

Look across the Grand Canyon, what an awesome view! The incredible expanse from rim to rim; the breathtaking depth! And, from where I stood, there was no way across! When humankind turned from the Creator to become their own god, an incredible chasm separated Maker from created ones. Now, what? No way across!

“A priest,” wrote H. Ray Dunning, “as indicated by the Latin term from which it comes, is a bridge builder creating the possibility of traffic both ways—from God to humanity as well as from humanity to God.”* Christ, the incarnate Son, provided the way across—the priestly bridge! Down he descended, though God, He was incarnated into human flesh, took the form of a slave, stepped even further down to death of the lowest kind—crucifixion—and that by the hand of those He came to save! (see Philippians 2:5-11).

As regards One to represent us to God and to bring God to us, how can you go higher than Jesus the Christ! I have full confidence in Him. Shall we together?

    Hebrews 4:14-16
    14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,[f] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

    Hebrews 5:2
    2 He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness.

    Hebrews 5:5
    5 In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him,

    “You are my Son;
    today I have become your Father.”

    “As regards One to represent us to God and to bring God to us, how can you go higher than Jesus the Christ! I have full confidence in Him. Shall we together?” by Paul Martin

    The above scriptures are the ones that particularly spoke to me today. And the quote by Paul Martin says it much better than I ever could. Will you also have full confidence in Him?

    I would like to add Hebrews Ch3, verse 1.
    There Jesus was portrayed as an Apostles and as a High Priest.
    As an Apostle he was sent by God to reveal God. As a High Priest he was taking us to the presence of God to be acceptable by his High Priestly ministry.
    In both ways we have confidence in Him.
    Praise the Lord.
