The Leader’s Posture
October 7th, 2013
Numbers 14:13-25
The posture of our hearts before God is justifiably linked to the connection we have with God and the outcomes we desire to see from God. Any great achievement of God among us first begins when men and women come boldly, yet humbly, in a posture of personal and corporate repentance. There is no escaping this leadership principle. Moses knew this. God is clearly upset with Israel’s rebellion. Wisely and humbly Moses pleads for pardon. This is a posture we would do well to adopt.
“But now, I pray, let the power of the Lord be great, just as You have declared” (v. 17, NASB). This indicates the posture of a man who knows God’s loving and merciful nature. Moses also knows the value of intercession if a leader takes up the cause for divine pardon and grace.
Perhaps your church longs for revival? Perhaps your family needs a divine in-filling? Will you be willing to take that posture?
