An Example Of Preparation

Luke 12:35-48
It was cold this early morning at 5 AM, the truck had no heater, and I sat shivering beside my grandpa. We were headed for the farmer’s market. I was very excited, my first time to go! As we drove into the market, expectant voices called out, “Here comes J. C. Olds! Let’s hurry so we can purchase his vegetables.” As they crowded around to buy the carefully prepared produce from the truck I felt a swelling of pride for the gentle, consistent prepared gentleman that was my grandpa.
Many times since that day I have been hurried, and sometimes unprepared, for things needing to be done. At those times my thoughts have turned to my grandpa and the legacy he left for me.
Jesus has left for us a command to tell the world. “But ye will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses” (Acts 1:8, KJV). Not tomorrow, but now. Let’s prepare today; let’s anticipate His coming back to earth. Are you ready?
