Life Comes From The Spirit

John 6:52-65
Joyce and Gene had the privilege of speaking for a weeklong Bible conference held at a beautiful resort in northern Malaysia. The theme was “Life in the Spirit.” At midnight, more than 500 gathered and climbed into a caravan of buses.
All started with eager anticipation. But as the 12-hour ride unfolded, heads began to droop then tilt to one side as sleep overcame them. It was almost comical to hear the rumbling choir of “snorers.” After a few brief stops, they finally reached their destination. Everyone was suddenly reinvigorated as they clambered from buses and into the beautiful facility.
Somehow that is how it is when we accept the Lord as our personal Savior and allow his Spirit to invade us. We are transformed as we shake off old things and eagerly step into the transformed life he gives.
They had awesome times of worship and sharing. The return journey was long, and again they grew weary–as we do in daily life. But regardless of how long and tiresome life’s journey may become, the underlying joy of the Lord is always with us as we focus on him.

In John 6:55, Jesus stated that His flesh is real food and His blood is real drink.
That means they are not artificial, fraudulent, false, or deceptive. We need to chew, swallow, and digest the His life, death, and resurrection. After digestion, His nutrients (Spirit) are to be excreted through our words and actions whereas we can distribute the manna from heaven to the world.
