Who Do You Please?

2 Corinthians 4:1-12

Did you know that a human eye can distinguish 500 different shades of gray, that sailors once thought that wearing a gold earring improved their eyesight, or that your eyes blink over 10 million times a year? Did you know that the “puff of air” shot into your eye during a glaucoma test seems like the longest and most torturous second known to mankind? None of us look forward to it, but in an effort to please our eye doctor and find out if our eyes are healthy, we sit there and take it like a mouse. Which poses a question: Do we want to please God as much as we want to please our ophthalmologist?

Most of us know what it means to please others, and most of us know what it means to please ourselves, but what does it mean to please God? Hebrews 11:6 gives us a clue, “without faith it is impossible to please God.”

God expects us to have faith in his promises and act accordingly. Surely we can display a little more faith in the Sovereign and Supreme Sustainer of all.

    Very lovely, Barbara!

“without faith it is impossible to please God.”

Having faith and trusting the Lord with your all heart is one of the sure way to please God. Trust. Believe. Rest. Find peace in His promises. Delight in Word. It will be a lamp to our feet and a light for our path. – Psalms 119:105. The same way our eyes need light to see, our souls also needs that everlasting, oh so powerful light from our Heavenly Father. We can find this through daily study of his Holy Word. Praise God today and forever.

Steve, thank you! However, I can’t take any credit. I don’t think the correlations are an accident. God is so awesome!

After all, the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit!

Marcela, your faith is lovely also!

(Since you mentioned our eyes needing light, remember those “blind fish” that live in caves. If memory serves me correctly, they are blind because they don’t get light.)
