Now Is The Time

Luke 2:1-12
The baby Mary laid in the manger was not just the Son of God; he was also God the Son. Jesus came as our, “Mighty God,” in Hebrew “El Gibor,” or “strong one.” When we rely on Jesus, we are relying on God himself! Now is the time to take advantage of Jesus and his strength!
I love his words in Matthew 14:16, “You give them something to eat.” The disciples were stymied! Andrew spoke up, “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish” (John 6:9a). Andrew knew that this offering seemed insignificant, but perhaps he also knew no gift is insignificant in the hands of Jesus, our Mighty God. What an amazing lesson–that so little could be used to accomplish so much–a huge crowd was fed! Little is much when Jesus, our Mighty God, is in it!
God’s ability to use our gifts and our efforts is in no way hindered or enhanced by their size. Sure, our contribution might seem foolishly small, but it is fools like us who truly make a difference for the kingdom. Now is the time to celebrate our Mighty God!

I love that song…
“little is much when God is in it
labor not for wealth or fame,
there’s a crown and you can win it
if you go in Jesus name”
We can make a difference in this world if we do what we do in Jesus name.

“Now is the time to celebrate our Mighty God!”
The way to celebrate is to “glorify.”
.
With the analysis of the Connecticut school shooting in the news, we need to be ever mindful that everything in this world is trying to brainwash us – from our TV, to our music, to our movies, to our friends and co-workers. We have been surveyed so much that the services industry and product manufacturers know us better than we know ourselves.
Mental illness is a mystery. However, with what satan has meant to harm us (society), God can turn around for HIS glory. For instance, the proof is in the pudding regarding our intentional “brainwashing” to the mind of Christ (Philippians 2:5, Romans 14:13).
Jesus teaches “love” not “hate.” The world doesn’t agree that He is the only way, but we can capitalize on the fact that Jesus will start the healing of the families and friends of the victims by having these children to have not died in vain. Gun control to the mentally ill is already underway.
The problem is that no one can predict a situation such as this. “Anyone” can crack under undesirable situations; and, the things that have occupied our minds can come out without proper guidance.
Furthermore, we need to remember that while God desires a broken contrite spirit, HE does “not” cause it. The pressures of this world that break our human spirit can, likewise, make us vulnerable to the wrong spirit.
Many times that breaking point is caused by the feeling of not being loved; whereas Jesus brings love into our life. While all the time we may have been oved, the ones who love us “might” have failed to relay that love (because of their lack of ability or knowledge regarding the attributes of love — 1 Corinthians 13:4-7).
However, there are other times when there is a void in our life—as it is with the mentally ill. God fills their voided capacity with the activities and love of the church (if introduced early enough with regular participation). *Even those known as God’s people have a hard time accepting the strange words and actions of those that aren’t like us.
