1 Corinthians 12:12-26
“One Size Fits All” is sometimes found on a label in clothing. Generally, this means the garment is going to be pretty large and roomy–which may be a perfect fit on some bodies, but probably not too attractive for others with petite proportions.
God has designed each of us according to his unique plan for our lives. We come in various shapes and sizes, temperaments, talents, and personalities. Our genetic background, environment, and experiences also shape who we become. But the Father has granted us the privilege of the sanctifying presence of his Holy Spirit dwelling in us, when we surrender and consecrate our lives to God. His Spirit is a “One Size Fits All” gift, empowering every believer, no matter their background. Unlike those baggy clothes, however, the Spirit adapts to meet our particular need. Through this gift we have freedom from the chains of sin, the sin that marred God’s perfect creation. We can truly become all that God intended for us.
