Celebrate The Messiah!

Our scripture today reminds me of Handel’s Messiah. One of the more powerful sections of that oratorio, which is also the concluding piece, features these words from Revelation 5:12-13, “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise! . . . To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, forever and ever!”
These words are so much more than just a seasonal musical work. They are words of praise to describe the one and only Messiah. The One we worship today as once dead but now alive. The Son of God who comes as the Savior of the world. The Resurrected One who now has his place in heaven.
As you celebrate this Easter Sunday, make Jesus more than just a seasonal remembrance. See that Jesus has his rightful place in your life, sitting on the throne of your life as Lord and Savior.
