Calm in the Storm

Following the Korean War, Don Owens, a young missionary in Korea, had a heavy heart because he could not find land for the Bible college. On one particular morning, he drove down the highway toward a nearby city. Suddenly, he felt led by the Holy Spirit to turn down a narrow road. Next, he was overwhelmed by a desire to pray. He stopped the car, knelt down under a grove of trees, and prayed for guidance.
Immediately, he became convinced that this land would be the new location of the young college. After more prayer, a local villager appeared. This villager guided Owens through the negotiation process that would lead to a new, larger campus for Korea Theological College.
Sometimes, God uses great storms in our life to show his grace to us. We only have to pray, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” (Matt. 8:25).
