A Time To Remember

August 26th, 2011

RG AUDIO 082611Romans 14:22-15:6

Sometimes it is hard to remember what life was like before we met Christ. We don’t make it a practice to look back. We face forward and, as Paul says, “We press toward the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus.” Everything changes when we came to the cross. We have a new desire to become like our Lord.

We study the Scriptures, pray, and worship with other believers. We grow as we obey the Lord. It doesn’t happen overnight, and we know there is much to learn. But sometimes we forget how far we’ve come, and we find the progress of some new believers slow and painstaking. We can become impatient with them and even judgmental when they don’t meet our standards.

Rather than condemning those who are struggling, we need to pray for them and do all we can to encourage their growth in the Lord.
