Psalm 2
How do you serve the Lord? Do you think God will always cover you in grace and you can do anything you want to do?
To serve God is to make oneself a servant. To fear God is to respect, revere, and be in awe of him. To rejoice in him is to delight in him. But to tremble is to shudder (Strong’s Concordance). Why? I think that we are to shudder because we need to remember that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. To honor and respect God is a good thing. It will help us to obey him.
When my three-year-old nephew, Ben, does not obey me, all I have to do is ask, “Do you want me to call Daddy?” Instantly, Ben will do what I have asked him to do. My brother, Bill, has taught his son, Ben, that obedience is part of true love.
Obedience is to rejoice with trembling in Abba the Father. In both his love and wrath!
