Romans 7:7-25

Life is full of challenges. Sometimes we find ourselves in situations where we think we are good for nothing. This is the very situation that the apostle Paul found himself in. He struggled with the challenges of life as they attacked his Christian life. Nevertheless, through his faith in God he made it. He found purpose in continuing his journey with the Lord. It is natural that we sometimes come to a point where as Christians we feel like we are the worst of sinners. It is not so. We are not the first ones to experience failure. We need to emulate Paul, lift up our eyes of faith above difficult situations and see the goodness of God. Stumbling in our Christian life is a reminder that we are in a battlefield, not a sign that we are a disgrace to God. As we come to him in faith, “May the God of hope fill [us] with all joy and peace as [we] trust in him, so that [we] may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Rom. 15:13).
