Is Jesus Really The Messiah?
March 22nd, 2011
Luke 7:18-35
Have you ever questioned the authenticity of Jesus Christ? You are in good company if you said “Yes.” Jesus’ own cousin, John the Baptist, questioned. He was a prophet, yet! Still he questioned his own prophecy even after his disciples reported good news. Perhaps surprisingly Jesus said, “There is no one greater than John” (v. 28a). That is quite a statement regarding one who is questioning the Messiah’s validity.
John must have felt isolated. He must have mistaken the silence of a cell as the inactivity of God. He seems to act like one believes God doesn’t know what’s going on. He knows! Even in the silence of your life, God knows. He uses all your life experiences to form Christ in you. That is his purpose. Everything else accomplished in the kingdom flows out of that purpose.
Open your heart to him with childlike faith, and the truth will be revealed.
