Take The Right Turn
March 6th, 2011
Isaiah 55:1-13
God is all about getting people to turn. He called Abraham to turn a new direction and “go to the land I will show you” (Gen. 12:1). He called Moses to turn from tending his father-in-law’s sheep “and bring the Israelites out of Egypt” (Exod. 3:11). Peter’s invitation to those amazed at the healing of a crippled beggar was,
“Repent, then, and turn to God” (Acts 3:19a).
The answer for a life headed toward destruction is to take a right turn. A turn toward God and his will for your life is always the right way to go. The direction is clear. Are you thirsty? Then come to the waters. Are you hungry? Come, the Lord supplies the richest of fare. Do you need direction? Give ear to the Lord, and your soul will live. Seek God, and you will find him. Call out to God, and you will find him near. Turn to our God. He is standing nearby, with mercy and pardon.

So grateful that God’s grace reached me as a young boy and turned my heart toward Him. No telling where I would have gone if I had not turned at that age. There have been other times throughout my life when I turned back to Him after a period of confusion. I am now almost 65. I don’t have any regrets about being saved as a boy.
