To Infinity

Romans 4:1-12
How many times do you think the average person is tempted to sin in a day? Ten, twenty, a thousand times? When kids learn what “infinity” means, every counting contest is lost to the first who proclaims “to infinity!” When it comes to counting sin, I think of the infinite possibilities within my own life, and I’m afraid I can’t count that high!
We feel good about ourselves when we make every attempt to live with a clear conscience before God and our neighbors. However, a clear conscience that comes from honest attempts to live right doesn’t guarantee that we are living perfectly in God’s will. An impure thought, a grudge, an unforgiving spirit, pride. These are a few of the things that can cause us to stumble.
Jesus is our “righteousness, holiness, and redemption” (1 Cor. 1:30). Only through faith in him are our sins forgiven and covered.
