A Call To Repent
November 2nd, 2010
Joel 1:12-20
Sometimes a blow to our lives is the result or consequence of our own disobedience. The prophet Joel condemns the consequences of the national sins of Judah. The nation suffered. Locusts ate all the vegetation. Then, human armies destroyed what was left.
The Old Testament reveals that God loses patience with nations that forget Him and His laws. Today, environmentalists warn us about neglecting our natural world and what could happen if we are not responsible stewards of our resources. Newscasts remind us of the constant threat of armed might around the world.
What can one person do about the consequences of national or societal disobedience? Our prayers of confession and intercession are often personal. How often do we join together to pray for our country, state, or neighborhood–for God to forgive our land?

What does these two examples have to do with the question asked? Two better examples would be our nations disregard for the unborn and our need for a strong defense to fight off the coming jehod (sp). If we don’t repent as a nation an army will distroy what is left as today’s Scriptures said.
