The Lord and I Have a History
August 14th, 2010
God’s senior statesman, Moses, is addressing those he’s led for many years. He wants them to make a renewed commitment: that even though in his absence, they’ll live God’s way and trust the Lord in the big events still to come. One element of this is to remember what the Lord’s already done. It’s an impressive list of deliverance and provision. This, Moses reminds them, is their story. Soon, their children will not only repeat that story, but they’ll add their own accounts of God’s power in their lives. However, Moses isn’t talking to those children. Instead, he’s reminding these adults that their own history with the Lord is to fuel their faith in Him and their commitment to live according to His ways.
I don’t have anything as spectacular as a Red Sea story and I have not collected manna in the desert, but God’s been good to me. I have some stories of deliverance and provision of my own. Today, Moses reminds me that the memory of those cherished events is to impact my life today.

Amen and Amen God has worked miracles in my life that ONLY He could do: a wonderful marriage, two sons, my health and a second chance at life. That is why I want to do as much as I can for God and my church. As once stated we can be the miracle workers/angels in others lives if we listen to God and do His will.
