Our Righteous Response

A ragtag bunch of slaves are delivered from the ruthless grip of a tyrannical ruler by a more powerful, benevolent King. After destroying the opposing army, the King offers ex-slaves freedom, covenant relationship, forever inheritance in His kingdom, along with protection, blessing, and abundant life!
It was a gift, given freely because they were loved and chosen.
In Romans 12:1, Paul urged those who had received God’s gift of mercy and grace to a righteous response: “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service”. Our righteousness does not provide access to the Kingdom or increase favor, but it is the only response appropriate from former slaves who have been set free and received such an incredible gift.
