Words have the power to uplift or tear down. Words have the power to educate or captivate. Who has not traveled back in time with Shakespeare to witness the rise and fall of Julius Caesar? Who has not been intrigued by Don Quixote’s search for the Golden Age? Have we not grieved with Quasimodo? Literature has shaped how we see the world. It inspires and educates. We’ve analyzed Pride and Prejudice with Jane Austen and lamented and laughed with Emily Dickinson. Oh, the awesome power of words!
God’s Word makes our hearts leap and satisfies our thirsty souls. For it is the One who knows and loves us best who can provide instruction.
When we have lost our way, God’s Word is light. When death’s shadow is cast, God’s Word is life. When hatred threatens our peace, God’s Word is love.

Amen there is no better Word than God’s Word.
