The Promises of God

2 Corinthians 1:15-24
We live in a world where we are bombarded by promises, many of which often seem too good to be true. Advertisers promise us a better life if we will just buy their product. Weight loss programs promise incredible results if we will just commit to their system. With so many promises and so little follow through, naturally we become a little skeptical.
But the promises of God are different. God does not make promises He is not fully committed to keep.
We see God’s deep commitment to fulfill His promises best displayed in Christ Jesus, our Lord. In Jesus, God is revealed as One who is willing to take on human flesh and enter our brokenness, becoming like us in every way. In Christ Jesus our Lord, all God’s promises are ‘yes.’
We do not have to wonder if God will keep His promises. God has already fulfilled His promises in Christ Jesus our Lord, and we rest in the faithfulness of God until Christ comes again and all things are made right.
