God Blesses

Nehemiah 2:11-20
The life of faith to which God calls us requires courage and resolve. We need courage to believe that God will do what He says. In Nehemiah’s story, God blesses the rebuilding of the wall. Both practically and metaphorically, this is a clarion call to God’s people to re-establish their identity.
Any authentic steps that we take toward Christ, toward the re-building of our relationship with Him, and toward establishing our identity in Him, connects us to the heart of God. God blesses that.
There are often other voices that discourage us, placing doubt or even fear in our paths. God’s heart beats to bless our steps toward reconciliation and renewal with and in Him.
The rebuilt wall serves as a place of refuge. God does not want a wall that keeps people out. He blesses the rebuilding of a wall that restores the identity of people as His. The wall symbolizes God’s role as protector and refuge for His people.
