Hope, A Good News

Colossians 1:1-14
Christ followers carry a deep sense of hope in their lives. This hope is evident in their love for others and their joy in life. When one experiences this hope that comes from Jesus, it can truly change the trajectory of one’s life.
I have two friends who were recently diagnosed with cancer. Both just started their chemotherapy treatment and I’ve been following their updates on social media. They’re wonderful people, but they have differing beliefs regarding Jesus. This makes a stark difference in their view of hope. Upon receiving their diagnosis, both took the news hard. One of them responded with a lot of anger and bitterness toward God, while the other completely places trust in God.
The hope that we find in Jesus changes everything. As Paul said, faith and love spring up from our hope in Christ. Paul goes on to say that this is the true message of the gospel: a good news that naturally flows out of our faith in Jesus.
