We’re In It Together

Colossians 4:2-18
From its beginning, God’s ways have been about collaboration. The Holy Trinity, God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, work together like a well-choreographed dance. Jesus came and shared his ministry and mission with twelve disciples and many other followers, including women. Those followers carried on working together after his ascension. The earliest churches were connected through missionaries and letters that they shared. They helped each other when in need and depended on one another.
Despite his chains, Paul wrote to strengthen this collaboration in the Church. He encouraged, cautioned, and challenged them. He requested they pray for him. Paul’s concern for the churches was reciprocated.
The Church has always been about teamwork, not individuals doing their own thing, but followers of Christ working together, caring for each other, challenging each other. It can be difficult work, but working together allows the world to see God’s love manifested among us.
