The “Coincidences” of Life

Hebrews 8:1-13
Abraham Lincoln had been a failure in about everything he tried. Depressed one day and rummaging through an old trash barrel, he found a set of Blackstone Commentaries—legal textbooks. Over the next few months Lincoln read those books from cover to cover and soon became a lawyer. This led him into politics. Eventually Lincoln became the 16th President of the United States. His path was filled with failures, heartaches, and disappointments. However, through these books, discovered by accident, he found a greater promise and purpose for his life! The mere “coincidence” of finding some discarded books changed Lincoln—and the world—forever.
What circumstances or coincidences fill your life today? God knows each detail of your life and nothing takes Him by surprise. Be reminded this day that God in His sovereign timing knows all about you. Even in the frustrations of life, God has a greater promise and plan He is working out for your good and His glory.
