Romans 5:1-11

The use of tools is a sign of intelligence. When scientists evaluate the potential of animals, it is a deciding factor in their ranking. Dolphins, dogs, and elephants use tools, as do many other creatures. They are used for grooming, gathering food, and collecting water.

We also use implements, which are constantly being improved. Think of the advancements that have occurred in your own lifetime. We can get news faster and travel more easily. E-readers and internet-based communication are common. Space flight is routine and barely covered in the news. Those who would have been limited before have machines that make life easier. Older people can continue active lives with the aid of recent discoveries. The science fiction of our youth is becoming reality startlingly quickly.

For all the tools we have, there are still things that we cannot do, and never will do. Without God, we can be intelligent, but not wise. We cannot rid ourselves of sin. There is no tool or app for that. We need the sacrifice of Jesus.

Technology is wonderful, when used for the good. Human tools keep improving as tech companies compete to make the better computer, whether smart phone, tablet, notebook, or desktop. No matter how much we create tools to simplify our lives, it amazes me that there are still things that only God can do. I am very thankful for His faithfulness to us, even while we were still sinners, as He sought us and wants to be with us. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!

As useful as technology is, it can also ruin us, we must guard our hearts. The sacrifice of Jesus won’t ruin us, we are ruined with out Jesus. Praise be to God for his sacrifice can make us whole again.
