Helping Them Hear Jesus

John 4:25-42
Our world is in audio overload. Need examples? Grocery store music. Or bank conversation. Or our homes (television, phones, kids, pets, and family). Arrgh! Add discussions regarding politics, culture, and religion into the mix and you have a mess! Amid all this, how do we help our world hear Jesus?
The story of the Samaritan woman in John 4 is familiar. However, sometimes we might blithely pass over the “rest of the story.” After her time with Jesus, the woman went back to town–a courageous step–and began to tell what the Master had done for her. She held up Christ. Her simple, powerful testimony created a desire to see this man, who was possibly the Messiah. When Christ came, they were ready to receive Him. The result was personal faith: “Now we have heard for ourselves” (v. 42).
How do we help our world hear Jesus? We must spend time with the real Jesus. Only then can we share Him with others.
