Do you know someone who knows everything? I have a friend who appears to be an expert in every field. It’s tough to be in a conversation with him about anything without hearing, “I know, I know!” He seems to have an answer for everything. You would think that he would be incredibly successful in everything he does. Well, guess what? His life is always in crisis! He struggles in every area–job, family, and faith. There’s a difference between knowing and doing.
It makes absolutely no difference if you know what is right, yet still choose incorrectly. Wisdom comes by working and living out the disciplines we learn, by putting them into practice.
The smartest people I know are the ones who say, “I don’t know” or “I’m not sure.” They seek guidance from mentors and friends. They recognize their own limitations.
Seek God’s guidance through prayer and find comfort in His ways.
