Being the granddaughter of a farmer, and daughter of a dad who works in the agricultural industry, Thea has long been acquainted with the immense work it takes to care for cattle. She’s also heard stories of dishonest people who make it their business to steal cattle. It seems like the ones marked with a branding iron might be a more challenging target for theft, because you know to whom they belong.
What a glorious thought to know we have been marked by the Holy Spirit as people belonging to Christ! We’ve got his seal on our hearts.
Acceptance is something many of us search for tirelessly, but it is not always found in the places where we seek it. When we focus on deepening our love for God and His people, our dependence on earthly acceptance fades. Regardless of how insignificant we might feel in the eyes of the world, we can be sure of the love of our Father. In spite of how powerless we might feel we know the very power demonstrated in Jesus’ resurrection rests on us as believers.
