The Gospel bears fruit. We bear fruit. We are Gospel People. We don’t just tell the Good News. We live the Good News. We embody the Good News. We are the walking, talking, breathing, crying, laughing, hugging Good News of Jesus Christ.
But the Gospel life, which we embody, comes from beyond us. Faith and love spring from a hope stored in heaven. If we are to live a life worthy of the Lord, then God must fill us with wisdom and understanding through the Spirit. God has qualified us as his holy people in the kingdom of light.
Our identity as Gospel people is primarily seen in our own rescue and redemption, in our own passage from darkness to light. However, this identity bears fruit in redemption and rescue for others. Gospel people shine the light of the Kingdom through our faith, hope, and love. When we see such beautiful fruit coming from broken branches like us, eventually everyone knows that this life comes from God.
