Ephesians 5:1-17

On a summer mission trip, our group assembled to give relief to a community devastated by a tornado. At the same time we also conducted a Vacation Bible School. I was definitely outside my comfort zone! I admitted that I did not really know how I could help, and was duly given charge of the games. My initial excitement faded when all the games I knew seemed to vanish as my time approached! I decided to begin our time playing the role of conductor in “Follow the Leader.” I had no idea how enthusiastically those kids would follow me, regardless of where our little train went.

At times in our Christian walk, we hesitate and worry over where we are and where we are going. While these are not bad concerns, when they keep us from following Christ it does raise red flags. How might we, like those children, willingly and joyfully follow the Spirit’s leading as we journey through this life?

God knows, better than any conductor, the path we are journeying through; His wisdom shines through us by following His lead.
