Called To Be Peacemakers

Colossians 3:1-17

Why is it that the people of God cannot seem to get along? We argue about the color of carpet for the church, types of light bulbs to buy, whether to wear choir robes or not. We disagree about the time to begin or end worship service, how much to keep or send to missions, and what to cook on Wednesday night. We claim worship music is too loud, too soft, too fast, too slow; the pastor preaches too long, doesn’t make hospital visits, and can’t control his kids. Nothing is off limits when peace is not in the hearts of men and women.

If we claim to have peace, we must ask, is it the peace of Christ or the peace of the world? The peace of the world is temporary and is quickly followed by confusion, disillusion, betrayal, mental and physical pain, materialism, hatred, and death. However, the peace of Christ results in joy unspeakable, compassion, kindness, humility, patience, love, and eternal life.

As the body of Christ, we are called to peace, to be his peacemakers, and to live in harmony with one another.

I use to get these devotions emailed to me but they have stopped. Is there a way to get them restarted?
