2 Corinthians 1:12-22

We live in a chaotic world that is changing so rapidly it seems difficult to keep up. Our minds spin as we race from one obligation to another. On the media, in the news, in our jobs, the rigor and expectations that are imposed upon us seem overwhelming. How can we peacefully function in such turmoil?

God’s Word says, “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things . . . Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts . . .” (Col. 3:2, 15a). When we allow God to help us see the world through his eyes, our perspective changes. We can live with integrity and godly sincerity. We can interact with others in a way that the “sweet aroma” of the Holy Spirit permeates from us. They will then see Jesus through us. But none of this can be accomplished through our human efforts alone. There are too many pressures and attacks bombarding us. We can reach this level of living only through God’s grace.

Let’s daily ask God to help us view our lives and interactions with others through his eyes. Let’s allow him to handle the pressures of the day. Let’s bask in his grace.

“We can interact with others in a way that the “sweet aroma” of the Holy Spirit permeates from us. They will then see Jesus through us.”

The “sweet aroma” of the Holy Spirit may just be to the other Christians. The world doesn’t like us because we remind them of the error of their ways (John 7:7).

We hear (John 10:4) Jesus in the clouds the first time we hear about Him. He comes to us the next time when we start questioning his existence. When we accept Jesus via the Holy Spirit within our heart (Matthew 7:7), He has spiritually returned to us. He returns within our minds thru the study of His Word; and, He returns in our walk when we allow Him to influence our words and actions.

Thus, when we see partial bits & pieces of Him in others through the power of the Holy Spirit, He is refining each of us for seeing Him in the clouds. His return is imminent!
