Sure Truth

Matthew 24:29-35

The promises and prophecies of God are sure. This earth someday will be burned and dissolved. It is only temporary. The Word of God shall endure through all eternity.

My father would sometimes call to say that he would stop and visit us as he traveled through our area. My children would get excited to see their grandfather only for my father to change his plans at the last minute and not come. My children would be very disappointed. God does not go back on his word.

People may make promises and not keep them. When God speaks we can trust him. Jesus has promised that he will return for his Church. Hard times may cause some to doubt, but the Word of God will come to pass. We may not be able to figure it out. God has his own timing. We only need to believe his word.

The old timers used to testify, “My tithes are all in, my restitutions made, my luggage is packed, and I am ready to go.” This is how we should live, because Jesus is coming again.

“The promises and prophecies of God are sure.”

Not wanting to add to or take away from John 1:1, but would it be wrong to say that God is a God of HIS WORD?

More appropriately, God’s character “does not lie.” (Numbers 23:11, Titus 2:2)
It is the devil’s character to lie (John 8:44). Therefore, if something didn’t or doesn’t ring true, satan has/had his hand in it., either through man’s interpretation or man’s nature to lose faith.
