James 3:7-12

The “TECHONOMY” Conference is about the centrality of technology to business and social progress and the urgency of embracing the rapid pace of change brought by technology. At their conference in Lake Tahoe in August 2010, Google CEO Eric Schmidt said, “Every two days . . . we create as much information as we did from the dawn of civilization up until 2003.” I’m not sure how you measure that much information, but it is not difficult to convince anyone that information is increasing at an absolutely astonishing pace. Today we have more knowledge at our fingertips than at any other time in the history of the world.

With all of this information, you would think that wisdom would abound, but economics, politics, education, and sadly, even the church have provided an abundance of examples of the foolishness of mankind.

The Bible tells us that true wisdom comes from the Lord. With the increase of information, knowledge, and education in our world, why is it that we still can’t get a handle on wisdom? Could it be that we are not looking for it in the right place?

Maybe we’re asking for wordly wisdom rather than spiritual wisdom because we’re not spiritually mature. Refer to James 1:5 “Or”, maybe those that don’t ask, don’t listen to those who do. It has to be one or the other (God’s WORD doesn’t lie!)

Who (other than God) can be truly wise!

We can only “attempt” to gather biblical and spiritual knowledge for applying with worldly and scientific knowledge for God’s glory. For any other way would be foolish.
