Prayer-Praise-Presence

January 4th, 2012

RG AUDIO 010412Psalm 16:1-11

Isn’t it amazing when we realize that the deepest level of prayer is not in asking but in surrendering to the will of God? Thus we can pray, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done.” This results in praise to God and a keen awareness of God’s presence.

A pastor was faced with a troubling situation. No one in his congregation would commit to serve as the missions leader. He was advised to share the burden with the church board and not bear it alone. He and the board prayed and fasted trusting God to select the right person, one who would be obedient to God’s call and lead the church in missions.

God spoke to a young lady as she prayed about her place in service. When she told the pastor of God’s dealings with her, both she and the church board began to praise the Lord for his faithfulness.

Bless the Lord who gives counsel and guides his own. In his presence there is fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore.
