Whom do you serve? In Colossians 3:24, the word “serve” is a form of the word doulos (DOO-loss) that means one who gives one’s self up to do another’s will–a person whose service is used by Christ in extending and advancing his cause among men and women (Strong’s Commentary).

After we have accept Christ as our Savior and Lord, sometimes he calls us to another step. The Lord invited the fishermen to leave their nets, promising he would make them fishers of men. Pastors, missionaries, and other Christian workers have felt God calling them into vocational ministry. It is a great honor to sense this divine call. This honor is not limited to those who feel a special call to a particular area of service. All Christians are called to be the Lord’s doulos.

Are you a doulos servant of God? Have you accepted his call, and do you willingly serve him each day?
