A Shared Life

There have been different seasons of life where I would have really liked a letter from God sealed and imprinted with a capital G. I could follow the specific directions, and if any one asked my reasoning, I could simply show them the letter.

Yet God seems to want something more out of our lives than blind obedience. God seems to want a shared life through which we know his ways and walk in his ways. The sealed letter would only demand an outward change. We are shown in God clearly desires an inward transformation. This whole-being transformation includes a full-life commitment, an ongoing renewing of the mind and a 24/7 life of worship.

This shared life with God demands that each day I lean in close to listen to God’s direction. It means that I offer my body, mind, and spirit in worship to God, and there find a deeper ability to hear God’s voice and discern God’s will.
