Deuteronomy 7:7-18

Five wives called the Alaska Troopers. Their husbands had not returned from riding snowmobiles. The Civil Air Patrol search and rescue unit departed from the airport into strong winds. They flew over the search area several times in different directions. Turbulence disrupted the search pattern.

After three hours they were tired and hungry. They wanted to quit. They saw no indications of people in distress. The temperature was below zero and the men had been out one night already. If they didn’t locate them, they could die. The crew decided to try one more time. The observer shouted, “I see them!” They radioed the helicopter. The men were picked out of the narrow ravine which could only be seen when directly overhead.

At the airport someone asked one of the rescued men, “How many times did we fly over you?”

“Seven times,” He replied. “Thank you for not giving up.” We serve a God who does not give up on his people. “He is the faithful God.”
