Walking In The Truth

2 John
First John reveals to us that, as believers, we walk in the light. Second John shows us that the Father commands us to walk in the truth. Can we walk in the light and not be walking in the truth? If God is the Light and the Truth, and we are following him, are we not in both the truth and the light through him?
John goes on to say in verses 5 and 6, “I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we walk in obedience to His commands . . . his command is that you walk in love.” Then love is not simply feeling as the world understands it, but is living day after day according to the Word of God.
As we read the Word, our path of walking in light and truth becomes clear. We walk in obedience and are walking in his light and truth.
