God Is Not Dead

Micah 6:1-8

It is so much easier to feel good about our relationship with God if we can do certain things or find rituals to follow. They can be good things: supporting needy children, feeding the hungry in our neighborhoods, helping build a house for a needy family, working with people with dependence problems. All such things are necessary and good, but they are not sufficient for our salvation.

What does God require? While we like to satisfy our obligations with actions, God requires us to be in our very character. The actions He requires are born of justice, all that is right regarding our neighbor.

How do we love mercy? Modern society makes fun of humility as a weakness. God requires us to walk humbly, accepting what God gives and allowing Him to lead. These are His requirements. How do we measure up?
