God Can!

Genesis 41:14-32
God is always going to act in accordance with His nature and will. When we get that straight, we can quit fighting God’s activity and embrace His plan. Many times, God tries to tell us what is coming. He provides guidance about how to handle the treacherous road ahead. We don’t like what we hear, so we try to force God to change direction. And in so doing, we’ve missed the point of God’s message. He is bringing protection.
I wish God would choose to just make the road ahead easy. But, rarely is that the case. Rather, He comes along side of us and whispers instructions intended to keep us safe and draw us into His plans. We can confidently walk into God’s provision because we are convinced of His ability to see us through.
Joseph simply speaks the truth of what God intends to accomplish. He doesn’t soften the harshness of the message. He doesn’t run away from difficulty. He just embraces the warning as a way of escape.
Rather than fight God in days of trial, we need to listen to His instructions carefully and choose to obey. He is leading us into protection, and we must follow.
