Because I Said So!

Proverbs 30:2-5
Have you ever said this? “Because I said so!” As a child, I hated that answer. I wanted to know why. I wanted to know why I wasn’t allowed to do more. I wanted to know why my brother was allowed to do more. I wanted to know why people weren’t always fair. The why questions never stopped. I’m sure it drove my parents and teachers crazy. Children always want to know more.

This search for knowledge is a healthy longing. Hopefully, it continues into adulthood so that we continue to search for God’s knowledge. It shouldn’t be a lazy kind of longing, but a desire to read, study, listen, and wait to find out more about God than what we have already learned. We will never know everything that God knows, but we will learn more about the God we love and the people we love. Take some time today to pray, listen, or study more about who God is and you’ll find out amazing things!

Your devotional has revaluationized my devotional life. I get the email every night about 1:30 am when I wack up in the middle of the night I reach for my Droid and read my devotions. This intern had helped me to want to pray and fast again. I just turned 60, so you can teach old dogs new tricks.
