What My Pastor Said

Todd was a college student, full of enthusiasm and self-confidence. He’d come to a decision about his life that would take him down a different path than the one he was on. When Todd told his pastor what he intended, his pastor was less than enthusiastic, So, in ill-advised sincerity, Todd played the “God card,” telling him that this was what God wanted him to do. With considerable patience and even more wisdom, his pastor said to him, “People usually end up doing what they want to do.” More than three decades later, Todd looks back to those words as some of the wisest he’d ever heard. At other times in his life, he’d heard Pastor Ken whispering in his ear, “Is that what God wants, or is it just what you want?”
I’m thankful for the seasoned saints the Lord has brought into my life and pray that God will help me to better hear His wisdom in their words to me.

Those are wise words and something to think about; but there is no question when we ask God Let Your Will Be Done.then we know that is what God wants us to do.
