The Kingdom Called “Me”

As a new Christian, I struggled to be good enough. I wanted to do everything right in the sight of God. I had good intentions, but I was striving according to my own willpower and strength. Of course, I failed. One day, I realized that I could not do it; I could never be good enough. My life was at a crossroad.

After his own failure, David confessed his sin and returned to God. Like an innocent child enveloped in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father, David once again experienced peace and restoration. Another prodigal had come home.

Giving our all to God includes the kingship of ourselves. For those who surrender the throne to the Father, He promises: “I will instruct you and teach you . . . I will counsel you and watch over you.” God doesn’t ask us to rely on our willpower, determination, or strength–but only to rely on Him.
