The second highest peak in the Old Testament mountain range of prophecy is Ezekiel’s promise of a new heart. This summit is only exceeded in height and grandeur by the foretelling of the coming Messiah. Here, God’s amazing and desperately needed promise guarantees that our stony heart can be removed and replaced with a new one. This clear promise from God affirms that the blood of the promised Messiah will wash away committed sin and cleanse our sinful nature.
